VINTAGE ENGLISH SILVER PLATE EGG CODDLER FROM CARRINGTON & CO., LTD - 130 REGENT STREET
This unique English silver plate egg coddler and/or egg warmer has four individual pieces.  The main part has an egg shaped body and inside is a section in which the eggs are to be placed.  That part can be taken in and out of the main section (see photos). It can hold up to four eggs.  The lid has an etched lion engraved on the side and a round pull at the top of the lid (see photos).   The small part with a handle is the part which goes under the frame that holds the eggs and is the piece which would hold a burner to coddle the eggs and or to keep the eggs warm (see photos).
The three legs of the egg coddler supporting the frame are completed with ball and claw feet which really adds to the pieces beauty and uniqueness (see photos).
The bottom of the egg coddler is marked with C & Co. followed by the companies marks.  Under that is the number 24621.  Under the number is CARRINGTON & Co., ltd followed by the company's address, 130 REGENT ST.  (see photos).  Inside the lid are the numbers 105 and 90 (see photos).
A short note just for fun, the eggs are not included.
The coddler is approximately 9 inches tall and 4.5 inches in diameter.
